Draft Minutes
Call to order: Chairman Robert King called meeting of April 19th 2007 to order 7:04 pm at the Orange Boating Club.
Minutes: Minutes from March 15, 2007 were allowed to stand with no changes
Reports by other members:- A power point presentation was give by Ed Lowe of St Johns Water Management explaining the restoration action plan for Lake Jesup. (See attached copy of power point and draft Interagency Plan.) Lawson Snyder and Vivian Garfien, added their agencies perspective to the discussion. After the presentation questions where addressed. There will be more meetings to discuss these plans. It was noted that this was the first time we have seen a formalized action plan from FDEP, SJRWMD and FFWCC on the overall lake restoration.
Some additional items discussed were:
- Robert King will continue to try to contact Pete Milam on 1135 progress.
- Robert King will continue to try to contact Evelyn Smart letter on the navigation channel
- Erin (Mr. Feeney’s office) will be our new contact on navigation channel.
- No one is satisfied by ‘non answer’ from Coast Guard navigability explanation.
- Bid for 46 bridge will go out July 07, Contract signed by Nov 07, construction start Jan 08
- Channel C Mitigation requirements and scheduling a meeting to determine ‘wetland’ value.
- Winter Springs has received approval on their permit request for pulling surface water from Jesup
- Next months meeting will include F.T.E. Hazmat Presentation
- Don spoke about getting web site up and running and some of the challenges, with Linux and AOL
- Robert is sending the letter to Library to thank them
