DRAFT MINUTES
Chairman Robert King called the meeting to order.
The group approved the April meeting minutes as amended.
Pete Milam, USACOE, sent Email to show the status of the draft Preliminary Restoration Plan. The document was still incomplete and will be transmitting and will provide us copies at he next meeting. We will be involved in the next phase of the project much more.
Under old business the Chairman updated the status of how the letter to the Army Corps regarding the Lake Mary Rd Extension Permit sent last month. Request was submitted late and was not likely to result in a hearing. The Friends are on record with their comments and will follow its progress. There was further discussion about the SR415 future plans and other Projects that will affect The LMB extension.
Robert Dallari spoke to the group regarding the purchase of land near SR426 and Lockwood Road for expansion of the State Forest. He stated that if we felt it a good idea, then a letter should be drafted to the forest service in support. Discussion followed. Although all felt it was a very good plan, the group did not make this connection because the parcel was outside our watershed but each individual organization took the information to make there own contact with the Forestry Dept.
It was reported that, at the Black Hammock Assoc. meeting this week, the county commissioner that spoke reinforced the counties position of support for the lake restoration.
The meeting was adjourned.
