The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Minutes - Minutes of the March 16, 2000 were accepted as presented.

SR 417 mitigation site berm removal update - Chairman King presented a package of correspondence given to him this date by Rep. Tom Feeney's office.

Regina Lovings, SJRWMD, presented a graph, prepared by Gary Zarillo, that demonstrates Channel C. Chairman King said he would take that to his computer guy to see if it matched. He said his computer guy has not been able to produce drawings from FDOT's CDs provide by Gary Bass. He said he would try to get the 2-D drawings done by the May 18 meeting. Ms. Lovings said Mr. Zarillo would make a presentation at the May 18 meeting. She wants to move the meeting to the Oviedo High School media center to facilitate the presentation.

Ms. Lovings gave a report on the aquatic plant plantings.

Chairman King said Gary Bass, FDOT, was supposed to make a presentation this date, but would be unable to. Because of the Zarillo presentation, he would ask Mr. Bass to bring his people to the June meeting. He said he hoped Rep. Feeney would be available, since the session will be over.

Chairman King gave a report on the status of the ‘Nested Basin' appeal.

Chairman King said he had attended the AHRI meeting on April 19. He said the two projects submitted by the FLJ were accepted and ranked at the meeting. He said the flow restoration project was ranked high and would probably get special attention by the River Navigator.

Larry Schwartz, CDM, will be the group's liaison to the Seminole County Basin Study. He explained that auto samplers will be placed on five creeks, with a goal of 12 storm events on each creek over 16 months.

Chairman King gave a report on the Seminole County Watershed Atlas website. The FLJ discussed approving a letter to be sent to the US Environmental Protection Agency, supporting the Watershed Atlas project.

Cecilia Height asked that any member who cared to, to please send a letter opposing the confirmation of Ken Wright as a member of the Environmental Regulation Committee. She also asked the members to voice opposition to the submerged lands bill.

The last two items on the agenda were postponed.
